When I turned two I was really anxious, because I'd doubled my age in a year. I thought, if this keeps up, by the time I'm six I'll be ninety.

OLF

I attended Ohio Linux Fest last weekend: part of the reason for this website. Some of the talks I thought lacked in substantive-ness, and by midday I was bordering on disappointed. However, by late afternoon things turned substantially. First, maddog Hall gave a brilliant talk on "sustainable computing". Then, I was a winner of a book at the TLLTS raffle. Then, Jono Bacon gave an inspiring talk about the open source community. And to top it off the after party was a blast. The organizers of OLF did an outstanding job. My only suggestion would be to try and get a little more variety and "substative-ness" in the talks. I hung out most of the day with 3 of my former students: Zach, Matt, and Toby (and Matt's son Adrian (it was noticeable that many people had children with them)). At the after-party, I got to meet and hang out with Dave Yates, Chad Wollenberg, Verbal, Mrs. Verbal, Threethirty, MonsterB, the TLLTS guys and others. It was quite a blast. I've been listening to these guys podcasts for a long time now, and it was great to meet and talk with them.
